From M5 Junction 25 (near Taunton)
At this junction take the A358 road towards
Ilminster for about 9 miles. Don't go into Ilminster, but
take the A303(T) Ilminster bypass towards Ilchester at the
roundabout. At the end of the bypass (after about six miles)
you will come to another roundabout near South Petherton.
Take a sharp right hand turn (4th exit) onto the old road
towards Ilminster, and drive past the Esso garage. About 300
metres from the roundabout take a left turn into Over
Stratton. Go almost to the end of the main village road,
driving about 50 metres past a telephone box. Tanwyn is on
the right hand side of the road, the first house of the
second pair of semi-detached cottages.
From the East (Yeovil / Ilchester directions)
Proceed either from Yeovil (on the A3088, or
through Montacute and Stoke-sub-Hambdon on the old road)
until you join the A303, or from Ilchester on the A303
westwards. You will come to a roundabout near South
Petherton. Take the second exit on this and drive past the
Esso garage, then proceed as above.
From the South (Crewkerne)
Take the road towards Merriott. Follow this
road past Merriott and Lopen. Just after you leave Lopen
there is a very dangerous double bend. Drive past this until
you reach a roundabout, near which is a pub named The
Poulett Arms. Turn right (East) on the third exit towards
Ilchester. Drive for about three quarters of a mile into a
village called Watergore. Just past this is a right hand
turn into Over Stratton. Take this and proceed as above.
Access to Tanwyn
Keys are with Mr and Mrs P Tanswell, who live
about 200 metres up the road (North) from Tanwyn, on the
opposite side where the road bends. The name of their house
is 'The Gables' and is the end house of a three house
terrace. The keys will need to be collected from there if
no-one is present at Tanwyn itself.
