Tanwyn is a recently modernised hamstone built cottage in the village of Over Stratton which is a beutiful bed and breakfast accommodation on Somerset. The village is picturesque, and is surrounded by many other hamstone villages.

The local Royal Oak public house is renowned for its cuisine, having been awarded several accolades, including Egon Ronay. The New Farm Restaurant is also situated in the village, and has gained a very good reputation since opening - in 2003 and in 2011 it gained the Gold Award from the Tourism Board. The nearest shops are in South Petherton, Crewkerne and Ilminster. Yeovil, a little further away, has a complete range of shops.


There are many local places of interest including Montacute House, Barrington Court, Lambrooke Manor Gardens, Muchelney, and Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park.  Tanwyn cottage is the perfect, quiet holiday getaway accommodation for guests who want to simply relax and enjoy  the quiet picturesque English countryside.


A little further afield are the attractions of Exmoor, Cheddar, Wookey Hole and the Mendips, and the Somerset, Dorset and Devon coastlines. Minehead, Lynton, Lynmouth and Weston-super-Mare are to the north, and there are many resorts on the extensive south coast from Swanage, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Chesil Beach to Seaton, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Exmouth and Torquay and Paignton. There are many local walks in the area, both short and long.
